CAD admin guide

For the person who sets GitM up for a team and manages its conventions. You install GitM on your own machine like any designer (see Installation), then use these pages to configure the team.

Before a team can onboard, GitMCloud must be configured and your members allowlisted. Onboarding fails closed without it. Coordinate with whoever runs GitMCloud — see GitMCloud docs and Prepare GitMCloud before installing.

Tasks

• Set up a team repository — create a repo with PDM rules and a profile.
• Configure team settings — Behavior and Storage settings, .gitm.json.
• Manage part numbers — the admin-gated auto-assign toggle and the registry.
• Manage locks and roles — force-unlock, freeze, roles.
• Switch or connect repositories — multiple repos, one active at a time.
